Here is Street Fighting Sun by Blitzen Trapper. Most of their stuff is more mellow with a distinct folky edge, but I just love the vintage classic rock sound they forge on this track. Definitely one of my favorites off their newest “American Goldwing.” Hope you dig it.
Was originally going to post this song on its own, but then found out that it has a fucking crazy video that I believe you will benefit from watching, so thats what you get. This “Curl of the Burl” may not be the best song off the new Mastodon album, (yeah I downloaded the leak earlier, sorry) however, I certainly found it to be the catchiest…which made a lot of sense in context once I found out it was in fact the official single. If you’re a die-hard fan, I’m sure you’ve already heard the track, but if not give it a listen now. Since their crazy inception (try this on for some perspective), Mastodon has really taken their sound in an interesting and far more accessible direction. Sure, its not as heavy, but they are still awesome and one of the most unique players in today’s American metal scene. That said, enjoy this preview, and then make a trip out to your local iTunes and purchase “The Hunter” in full, released today.
